Radiation? What?
Radiation is basically an energy that is in the form of waves or particles and it usually transmit or gives off heat because it the energy itself contains electricity & heat. One of the main example is the radiation that the sun gives off. A little bit of the suns radiation is able to give benefits to living things including us, but check again....YIKES too much of it is able to cause negative effects instead of giving benefits.

basic process of SOLAR radiation
Just like what have been said earlier, the sun gives off energy and one of them includes solar radiation. Solar energy is in the form of waves and some of it will be absorbed and some of it will be reflected back to space just enough so that there would not be too much. This is similar to a greenhouse that traps energy for the plants, but unlike a normal greenhouse that has glasses, we have an earth and its atmosphere.
Anyways the energy that have been absorbed by our earth through the solar radiation will reach the surface, and it will warm earth. After that energy is already absorbed, there are three things that happen, One is that gasses will trap them, some of the radiation will escape to outer space(sounds cool right?) and that energy will be converted into infrared radiation(which will be explained in the other section).
